Climate change is picking on the home state of the world's leading climate change denier: Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma. The changing climate may have a sense of humor.

Updated data from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) confirms that Oklahoma set the new record for the hottest summer during 2011.  www.nytimes.com/2012/06/03/us/oklahoma-2011-brought-hottest-summer-on-record.html?=1.  The old record of 85.2 degrees average summer temperature was also held by Oklahoma and set in 1934, during the Dust Bowl.

In fact, both Texas and Oklahoma surpassed the 1934 record during 2011.  And by a lot.

The NCDC states that Texas averaged 86.7 degrees during the summer of 2011, but Oklahoma sizzled to an 86.9 degree average number. It is stunning that Oklahoma reset upward the record by a full 1.7 degrees.

While Oklahoma shatters the high heat records, Senator Inhofe says climate scientists are engaged in a huge, global hoax and insists that only God can change the climate.
